Accounting did not disappear. The job description changed.

AI now drafts the entries, scans for anomalies, summarises a ledger and writes the first version of the note. What it does badly is know that your ledger has duplicates, judge an ambiguous result, and arithmetic — language models confidently guess rather than calculate.

That is the whole shift. The employable skill moved from producing the work to supervising, verifying and defending it. GACA is built around that one idea: every topic carries an explicit “AI does this / you do this” split, and verification is graded, not mentioned in passing.

It is taught at BeeTees Academy of Commerce in Edappally, Kochi — an academy run by a working auditing firm, which means the exercises come from anonymised real books rather than textbook samples.

This is not a Gen AI module bolted onto a 2019 syllabus. Most institutes add one. That teaches AI as a topic instead of as the condition the work now happens in — which is why their graduates can name the tools but cannot catch the tools being wrong.

What you will be able to do

By the end of three months you should be able to walk into an accounts department and do the following without supervision.

Use AI on real accounting work

Draft entries, summarise ledgers, reconcile statements and produce first-pass notes with AI assistance — and know exactly which half of the output was machine-generated.

Catch what the AI got wrong

The core skill. Spot fabricated figures, wrong arithmetic, invented references and confident nonsense in AI output, and prove the error rather than just sensing it.

Work the compliance stack

GST and TDS entries, reconciliation and statutory compliance, with AI speeding up the routine parts and you owning the judgement calls.

Defend a number under challenge

Explain to a partner, a client or an auditor how a figure was arrived at, what the machine contributed, and why you trust it.

Run the tools employers ask for

Tally Prime, Excel and Copilot-assisted workflows, taught in the order a commerce student already thinks — not starting from code.

Write the prompt that actually works

Prompt patterns for accounting tasks, where each one fails, and a verification protocol for every number that leaves your hands.

What the course covers

Who this course is for

Who it is not for: People with no accounting background looking for a general AI course. GACA assumes you can read a ledger. If you want data skills without the accounting core, look at DABI instead.

GACA — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the GACA course at BeeTees Academy?

GACA — Gen AI Certified Accountant — is a three-month classroom programme at BeeTees Academy of Commerce in Edappally, Kochi. It teaches accountants and commerce students to do accounting work with AI assistance and, critically, to verify and defend the output. It is taught by an academy run by a practising auditing firm, so coursework uses anonymised real client files.

Who should join the Gen AI Certified Accountant course?

B.Com and BBA students, working accountants, article clerks, and CA, CMA or ACCA students who already understand accounting fundamentals and want to add AI skills. It is not a beginner AI course — you should be able to read a ledger before you start.

What is the fee and when does the next GACA batch start in Kochi?

Fee and batch dates are being finalised and are announced to our enquiry list before anywhere else. Call +91 80757 34949 or fill the enquiry form on this page and an academic counsellor will contact you within 24 hours with the current details.

Do I need to know programming to join GACA?

No. GACA is built for commerce backgrounds and starts from tools accountants already use — Excel, Tally Prime and AI assistants — rather than from code. If you want the coding-led route, that is DSML, and it sits after DABI.

How is GACA different from a normal Tally or GST course?

A Tally or GST course teaches you to operate a tool. GACA teaches you to work alongside an AI that can already operate the tool, and to catch it when it is wrong. Fundamentals are still taught — more strictly, in fact — but the assessed skill is supervision and verification, which is what employers cannot get from a chatbot.
